In 2024, the National Museum of History reopened after renovations and launched a special exhibition titled “The Birth of Modernist Art Movement in Taiwan,” held at the National Taiwan Craft Research and Development Institute.

For this exhibition, the museum specially selected Liu Kuo-sung’s 1970 artwork, “Midnight Sun,” to be showcased. Additionally, one of the oral history series films produced by the Liu Kuo-sung Foundation, titled “Liu Kuo-sung and The Fifth Moon Group,” was screened. The film presents Liu Kuo-sung's perspective on the founding and development of The Fifth Moon Group and its role in the emergence of the modern art movement in Taiwan during the 1950s and 60s.
