Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the award ceremony of the Second Liu Kuo-sung Ink Art Award was held online on October 10, 2021.
For this year's award, the nominators were Josh Yiu, Pai Shih-ming, Wang Chunchen, Xia Kejun and Liu Zijian, and the judges were Xue Yongnian, Huang Kuang-nan, Roz Hammers, Liu Kuo-sung and Kingsley Liu. The final judging meeting was held online on September 27, connecting Hong Kong, Beijing and Taipei. After reviewing original works shipped to Hong Kong alongside digital submissions from the first round, the judges selected Bian Kai as Winner, with Tseng Ting-yu and Tak-yee Choi receiving Awards of Excellence.
