Special Liu Kuo-sung Ink Art Award: 90th Birthday Award (2022)

The Liu Kuo-sung Foundation and The Ink Society were delighted to present the Special Liu Kuo-sung Ink Art Award (2022) on October 7 at Ink Asia at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center. This was a special one-off award to celebrate Liu Kuo-sung’s 90th birthday. In recognition of Liu Kuo-sung’s 21 years of teaching at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, the Award recognized young Hong Kong artists who have contributed significantly to advancing contemporary ink art. The two decades in Hong Kong were an important chapter of Liu Kuo-sung’s lifelong dedication to nurturing new generations of artists.

This year, the nominators were Peng Qi-yun, Yu Qiao and Liao Jing-wei, and the judges were Liu Kuo-sung, Zhong Miao-fen and Deng Min-liang. After two rounds of judging, the Liu Kuo-sung Foundation and The Ink Society announce that the Gold Award goes to Hung Fai, the two Silver Awards to Yau Wing Fung and Chan Kwan-lok, and the two Bronze Awards to Shum Kwan-yi and Cheuk Ka-wai.
